Project Overview

The Marie Selby Botanical Gardens is a research and education center dedicated to serving more than 130,000 visitors each year to view the horticultural displays. The gardens contain a collection of thousands of colorful and exotic plants including over 6,000 orchids. Acousti was involved with renovating the 3,000 sq.ft. special events assembly room at the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens to accommodate 175 to 250 people for various multipurpose occasions. Acousti provided support for a lighter, brighter white finish to accommodate any event style, replacing the ceiling tiles with floating illuminated fabric kites assembled within the ceiling alcove, which could be accented with colored spotlight lenses
Acousti was able to coordinate installation and design considerations into the existing structure, all while staying within budget and time constraints. "The Great Room improvements and our spectacular garden setting on the Bay make Selby Gardens the best place in Sarasota for weddings and other social events," said Board Member, Sandy Rederer. Carl Needham was the Acousti Associate Manager on this job.
